DHS is looking to modernize its infrastructure and development processes by partnering with Tanzu (Formerly known as Pivotal). The individuals selected will be partnered up with individuals from Tanzu to help develop the DHS's platform and maintain the platform after deployment.
Enterprise adoption of cloud computing has precipitated a shift in the application architecture. New software patterns and frameworks require a new application runtime to support continuous delivery, scalability, resiliency, and flexibility.
As the State of Iowa embraces cloud computing, application modernization, and new application initiatives, VMware's Tanzu Application Service (formerly Pivotal Cloud Foundry) will provide developers and operators a consistent, automated runtime experience for modern Java, .Net, and Node applications. Tanzu Application Service (TAS) will sit alongside the Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKGi), providing the State the ability to host application workloads on their fit-for-purpose runtimes. It will be able to host any modern application workload and can be ported between the on-premise and Azure cloud deployments.
What you'll be doing:
• Driving platform adoption by working with application teams to embrace modern practices around developer workflow, application enhancements, build and packaging, application lifecycle, and observability
• Deploying and operationalizing platforms built on Kubernetes by designing for storage integration, container networking, service routing, observability, and platform security
